Building a vintage-style bathroom shouldn’t mean you need to compromise on usability and functionality. Polaris Vintage is, as the name implies, a vintage-style rain shower set. Easy to install like our other retrofit models (suitable for remodel as well as building new), it simply connects to the NPT threads like a regular shower head but you get a rain shower head and handheld combo. It is a modern take on vintage style and compatible with all US standard, integrated mixing valves.
This shower uses the same modern parts and high-quality materials as our Polaris 1 & 3 models but boasts classic, even Victorian-style design. Combine it in your nostalgia-laden rustic bathroom for that old-world charm, traditional style with modern amenity.
Easy Installation & Height Extension
The Polaris rain shower sets convert your single-outlet shower into a double-outlet combo with rain and hand showers. Installation is quick and effortless as you don’t need to alter the in-wall plumbing or replace your existing mixer valve. Compatible with standard single-function mixer valve. The included extension pipe makes Polaris Vintage suit different bathrooms. If you’re retrofitting (replacing an old shower head), the placement of the outlet determines the installation height. If the outlet is too low, but you have clearance to the ceiling, you can raise the rain shower head higher with the included extension pipe. If you’re building new or making a full renovation, you can place it as you like by determining the position of the NPT elbow.
Spa-like Showering Experience with Rain Shower Head
A rain shower head is a step towards luxury without a hefty price tag. The 8" (20 cm) showerhead provides an enjoyable rain shower experience with soft, rain-like water-flow. It works even with low water pressure.
Style-wise, the Polaris Vintage rain showerhead is different from other Polaris models, but inside the volume of water has been minimized similarly. It means the head drains quickly after use, which reduces water drips after use and problems with mineral build-up in the long run.
Usability & Reliability
A double-outlet shower provides flexibility. The shower wand is on a 5-foot-long shower hose for good reach. The hand shower holder allows height adjustments. The diverter is conveniently located and easy to reach – even for children and those with physical disabilities. It allows showering with the rain head, handheld shower, or both simultaneously. When used simultaneously, the water flow is divided between the outlets.
Materials
The Polaris Vintage is an all-metal-made shower system. The shower column, shower arm, diverter and fittings are made of brass so the unit is sturdy & durable. The showerhead is stainless steel with silicone nozzles. The handheld is the same with a ceramic handle. The handheld holder is also metal-made (only abs part in this system is inside the holder to shield the shower column from scratches). The shower hose is double-locked brass. The cartridge is ceramic which is more durable than plastic cartridges used in many showers these days.
